Tigers stumble in major semi

13/08/2008 10:24:00 AM
TWO fortuitous tries from charge downs gave the Bungendore Mudchooks a 15-0 victory over the Taralga Tigers on Saturday and a home grand final.

Taralga earned the home major semifinal after finishing the regular season as minor premiers.

The Tigers went into the match without having played for the past four weeks, due to a club bye, competition bye and a forfeit from Harden. Their chances were dealt a further blow with Tim Andersen and Matt Chalker, still carrying injuries, starting from the bench.

Taralga ran uphill in the first half and were behind on the scoreboard early after a penalty at the second breakdown of the match saw the visitors grab a 3-0 lead.
