Tigers keep clean sheet against Owls

23/06/2008 9:55:00 AM
AFTER giving the Tigers a run for their money in the first round, Taralga were more wary of the cunning Uni/Norths Owls outfit on Saturday.

The Owls are sitting in fourth spot and remain a real threat for the competition.

The Tigers were without vice-captain Martin Francis who was brought down with a virus before the game, however, Tom Hand returned to the field after a bull riding injury two weeks ago.

Taralga won the toss and captain William Hedley elected to run up hill in the first half. Taralga retained the ball well early in the match and looked in good touch, with the some great phase play. Whenever the Tigers had the visitors on the rack they seemed to loosen the screws and release the pressure.
