New curator sees track's potential

THE next time you visit the Goulburn and District Racing Club (GDRC) and marvel at the green track and surrounds, you should thank Jody Rodgers.

Rodgers has recently taken up the position of racecourse curator and with a background of 12 years in the thoroughbred racing industry he is expected to bring a wealth of experience to the role.

"I always had an interest in racing as a young kid as well as growing up," Rodgers said. "I was interested in thoroughbred racing, horses and generally being outside. I suppose you do something you enjoy doing because you enjoy the industry."

Rodgers is looking forward to the challenge at the track after moving himself and his family from Cessnock to take up the position.
