Girls win in thriller

15/08/2008 10:38:00 AM
TWENTY-TWO seconds on the clock, the score locked at 58-all and a roaring crowd in the thrilling final between rivals Goulburn and Albury.

Albury received two free shots from foul, converting one to give them the lead.

Goulburn got the ball and Jordan threw to Tilly, who drove through three Albury players before passing back to Georgia at the halfway line. With seconds to spare Georgia hit a successful shot from inside the halfway line for Goulburn to win by two points.

The win cemented the Bearettes position as the top U16 team in southern NSW. The girls have now finished in the top seven teams in the state (country and metro) and will travel to Sutherland this weekend to compete in the second round of the state championships.
