Clinical display overpowers Foxes

13/08/2008 10:22:00 AM
WITH an aim to win with a big margin and maintain a clean sheet, the STFA Strikers' mission was fully accomplished as the competition leaders overpowered Belwest Foxes with a strong and clinical performance.

The Strikers were unable to field a full squad as captain Andrew Aliffi was still missing due to injury while defender Nick McGrath was a late withdrawal.

Belwest came to Goulburn knowing that a win, or even a draw, against the leaders would be a season turn around for the winless club but, as predicted, the match started with the Strikers pushing forward.

The visitors defended well for the first 10 minutes but eventually the Strikers found the back of the net through Sam Taylor after a mix-up between Belwest's keeper and defender.
