Pipeline funds could evaporate: Water update

THE State Government will not give a firm commitment that $20m in funding for the Wingecarribee pipeline will remain in place.

As the State grapples with its financial woes and undertakes a review of major capital works, a spokesperson for Water Minister Phillip Costa, says at this stage "the government is not ruling anything in or out."

With a mini-budget expected to be handed down in November, the spokesperson said: "The Premier has said that everything will be considered, he wants maximum flexibility in this exercise as we strengthen the NSW economy".

"We have a challenge ahead of us to strengthen the NSW budget," she said.
