Resident, Melissa Foley heard several small explosions, which she initially thought was coming from the bush behind the house. Emerging, she found smoke and flames shooting from the garage.

Mrs Foley had earlier parked her car in front of the garage after dropping her boys at school. She quickly moved the car onto the street while a neighbour phoned the fire brigade.

The home is owned by Joe and Kerrie Foley but is occupied by their son Martin, and his wife Melissa, and their children.
